how long do those 12v batteries last before you have to replace it? if you use the linear actuator like 6 times a day daily?
@@Bluntedco. Hi there, The AC-03 battery used in this example project video is discontinued, however, replacing it with a power supply that receives 110-220 VAC from a wall outlet and outputs 12VDC for the actuator will supply power indefinitely. Assuming we want to use the example of all the components in the video and 6x full cycles a day at full load, the battery would last approximately 8.6 days before a recharge was required. Regards, Progressive Automations Team
@@ProgressiveAutomations for sure! i knew about connecting it directly to a wall outlet but i was curios to why many ppl use batteries if it only lets you get about 8 days max. i guess people who have the batteries set up to solar panels get a much better use. thanks
Did this myself but it stores our Ninja air fryer out of site in a space behind the cupboards.

thank you so much, i have a question about this type of actuators, can we use them in automotive applications like to push headrest forward during rear end accident to support driver's head and neck
Hello, It is possible to use electric actuators to adjust the positioning of headrests in automotive applications, however, determining the required specifications for the application is crucial to determine which model actuator is the most suitable. The common specs that would help in selecting a model include: • Stroke length • Force rating • Speed • IP rating (Dust and water resistance) • Dimension limitations For more information, we'll be happy to assist via email at sales@progressiveautomations.com Thank you, Progressive Automations Team
@@ProgressiveAutomations Hi sir, I sent an email..could check it please

Can you wire 4 aculators to one switch please
Yes, it is possible to wire 4 actuators in a parallel circuit to 1 rocker switch as long as the current draw of the 4 actuators combined never exceeds the current rating of the switch being used. For example, our PA-14 actuators draw 5A at max rated load capacity while our RC-12 rocker switch is rated for 20A. The 4 actuators multiplied by 5A results in a 20A draw if all were at full load so this example switch will be sufficient in this use case.

This makes me wonder if they really do have alien technology and are just titrating how much is given to us at one time. That’s amazing. You could eventually control a ship with this and no joystick. The number of possibilities is huge. Just kidding about the aliens.
We truly appreciate the compliment! Yes, the use of optical hand tracking modules can be applied in a large variety of different applications! Who knows, maybe it could even be used for controlling a ship in future projects!

What is the actual speed of that 8inch stroke actuator?
Hi Musphere! This example PA-14 actuator with 8 inch stroke and a 35 lbs force rating travels 2 inch/second when there is no load applied. It will take approximately 4 seconds to travel a distance of 8 inches.
Sir may I ask if I can switch the gears from a 30mm/s linear actuator to a 4mm/s to increase its speed ..I am planning on swapping their gears to save money for my project..thank you sir
Hi Musphere. A speed of 30mm/s is already faster than the speed of 4mm/s, however, we are assuming you wanted to know if it was possible to swap the gears inside an actuator. Since actuators can have a variety of different internal designs and configurations, we recommend contacting the direct manufacturer of your specific actuator to confirm with them if swapping gears was possible and if it would effect other aspects of your actuator's performance. We do not recommend swapping gears inside our own models of actuators as this voids warranty and also results in a compromised seal for dust and water resistance. Swapping gears also effect the force rating where faster speeds will result in less force capability.

Hi! Im having problems making a good arduino program on an ongoing Stewart Platform project I have at my school. Is it possible to get the code you made for the arduinos?

Is there any double acting electric linear actuator with compact in size?
All our electric linear actuators are double acting in the sense that they depend on electrical power to extend and retract without depending on springs to return them back into a position, however, we do not offer an actuator that comes with two extending arms/shafts in one unit if that was the double acting being referenced.
This is very cool I will try to build one for my house

What hinge's did you use I'm trying to do similar but it's catching on the hinges
We do not have information on which hinge model was used in this project, as this project has been made by one of our customers, however, you may consider heavy-duty door hinges from local hardware stores since having a physical hinge in hand is useful as a reference. If a hinge is catching, check to see if there is a sufficient gap for the hinges to pivot their full range of motion and slightly trim the wooden areas that do not have enough space for the hinges to pivot. You may also try cleaning the door of any debris and lubricating the hinges to reduce friction. If you had any other questions, we’ll happily assist you at sales@progressiveautomations.com
Is the 11lb option the fastest?
Hello Ryan! Yes, the model rated for 11lbs of force is the version that has the fastest travel speed.
Thank you!
I may switch the design of my products so that I can use the PA-13 actuator.
Hello David, When switching to another model actuator, some of the major things to consider include making sure your design can account for the new: - Voltage and/or current draw requirements - Space/dimensional requirements - Travel speed - Force output capabilities We also recommend running a few tests in a controlled environment with the new actuator to confirm everything will work the way you wanted before finalizing the design. If you had any other questions, we’ll happily assist you at sales@progressiveautomations.com Best regards, Progressive Automations Team
Yes. I'm working with your engineers right now.
Hello, great video!I have same smart switch and DC Linear acturator. Is it possible to combine button switch with 2ch smart switch?Thank you.
Hello Jure, It should be possible to modify the wiring in this video to accommodate for an extra button switch by integrating more relays to prevent a short circuit between the button switch and smart switch while still allowing for a path for the actuator to receive electrical power. If you had any other questions, we’ll happily assist you at sales@progressiveautomations.com Best regards, Progressive Automations Team

Hello, The wiring in this video follows the same wiring diagram listed in the video’s description linked below: www.progressiveautomations.com/blogs/how-to/how-to-use-relays-to-control-linear-actuators If you had any other questions, we’ll happily assist you at sales@progressiveautomations.com Best regards, Progressive Automations Team
How did you determine the 3-1/2" number on the top arm?
Hello Kyle, The shorter side of a pivoting lever arm will need to be a length that is longer than half of the actuator's stroke to ensure the actuator can travel its full stroke without rotating the pivoting lever mechanism over 180 degrees. Since the actuator used in this video has a shaft that travels a distance of 6 inches, the length for the pivoting lever arm’s shorter side will need to be longer than 3 inches and the 3.5 inch length that was chosen is a relatively even number to work with while not being too oversized. If you had any other questions, we’ll happily assist you at sales@progressiveautomations.com Best regards, Progressive Automations Team - Nathan
If I were to connect a sunroof and I want to connect it to my battery fo I need a relay ?
Hi Isaac, Our PA-09 actuator and LED rocker switch used in this video both operate at 12VDC and already allow users to extend and retract the actuator with the switch. Because of this, relays will not be required for connecting to a 12VDC car battery. Please feel free to email us with any other questions at sales@progressiveautomations.com! -Progressive Automations
Where I can buy the WiFi control system
Hi Fahri, we have a wide variety of control systems depending on your need. Please, check our website www.progressiveautomations.com/collections/control-boxes
This is crazy loud. Do they make linear actuators that are more subtle?
Hi! Generally, electric actuators are quieter than most pneumatic and hydraulic actuators. These PA-14 model linear actuators have an operating noise of <45 dBA which is similar to most of our other units. It is also important to keep in mind that audio recordings can sometimes be effected by the microphone settings, positioning, and room echo. In some instances of the video, four actuators were operating which can result in more noise than projects that use two or less actuators. To reduce noise, you may be also consider sound absorbing foam or other damping materials to soundproof an application. We hope this helps! -Progressive Automations

Any chance of getting plans to make this using your lift columns?
Hi Mindy. Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, we do not have the project plans for this build. However, each individual's project can vary depending on the size and dimensions the user requires for their storage.
Not sure if you've ever played Fallout, but if I theoretically wanted to make a powerfist, what would be the best one of your actuators to use?
Hello, For an effective punching motion, you will typically require a method of exerting motion at a high speed and medium to high force. In theory, you may consider using an electric actuator such as our PA-QR1 which has a quick-release feature that can allow for installation to heavy-duty springs. The actuator is to move the fist and the heavy-duty springs into position so you can lock them in place and then release a lever or trigger mechanism to fire the springs and fist at a high speed. This allows for a punching motion at high speeds that most actuators are not easily able to achieve. Thank you!
